SEWORKS, the Qualcomm and Softbank-backed developer of advanced security solutions, has just announced the availability of its AppSolid, the world’s first, most comprehensive SaaS-based protection for Android and Unity for Android apps.
“Already protecting millions of app users in a private pilot program, AppSolid is the brainchild of an elite team of five-time finalists at DEFCON,” according to a statement provided to MAW.
AppSolid is now being made available to developers for a free, six week trial period.
“We spent many months developing and perfecting a seamless solution to protect Android apps used by billions everyday,” said SEWORKS founder and CEO Min Pyo Hong. “We are proud to finally offer AppSolid to all Android developers, giving them everything they need to quickly and cost-effectively keep their mobile apps safe — especially after they’re published, when developers need full, immediate visibility on any hacking attempts.”
AppSolid already protects a wide variety of apps in its closed pilot program, including finance applications, utilities, and social network-related apps with millions of users.
“Mobile games are plagued by hacks and piracy the world over,” said Albert Lai, CEO of Big Viking Games. “AppSolid saves us hundreds of thousands dollars in potential lost revenue and development time — and just as important, peace of mind long after our apps are published.”
AppSolid is the only security solution giving Android developers a means to track, detect, and shut down hacking attempts in real time.
“By detecting and logging details of tampering attempts and memory hacking, AppSolid helps developers evaluate trends in security threats, including which hacking tools are being used against them most frequently — while also identifying weaknesses that need to be immediately addressed,” the statement concludes. “AppSolid even provides developers with a kill-switch option, to shut down a potentially compromised app at the device level in the event of a breach.”
