Business to consumer engagement is increasingly mobile — and businesses of all kinds need to make sure their strategies for interacting with customers and potential customers is up to snuff.

A recently published infographic (from B2C) suggests that many businesses may be missing out on huge business opportunities. That’s especially true if businesses don’t “master the mobile app.”

“Sixty eight percent of the time that individuals spend on social media is done using their mobile apps,” notes DotComInfoway, the creator of the infographic. “This has become the communication of choice as it makes the user experience faster and much more convenient. Individuals also are able to stay plugged in and engage a lot faster by using mobile apps.”

The evidence is overwhelming. Consider the fact that 84 percent of retail shoppers use their smartphones to assist them while they’re shopping in a physical retail store. They engage 2 to 4 times better on mobile apps than they do by using the web. In addition, 50 percent of all mobile searches are done with an intent to find information about local resources — from restaurants, movie theaters, and gas stations to shopping malls and retail locations.
