Any app developers out there champing at the bit to give a tvOS app a go?
“If so, you don’t want to miss participating in the Apple TV App Challenge, hosted by AppLovin,” reports the AppLovin blog this week.
So far, sponsors and partners include Fabric, Facebook, and Gitlab.
The Challenge features two separate contests: The “tvOS App Contest” and the “tvOS Hackathon.” Finalists in both competitions will be awarded prizes, as well as opportunities to demo their apps to VCs, journalists, and other market influencers.
The tvOS App Contest is designed for full-featured apps. Deadline for submissions for this competition is midnight PST on March 31.
“You can submit an app that you’ve already been working on, but it can’t be an update, sequel, or port of an existing published app,” explains AppLovin. “Judges from the industry will look for creative, visionary apps that reflect the advantages and innovations of the tvOS platform. Prizes include $25,000 to the winner, $5,000 to second place, and $1,000 to third place.”
The tvOS App Hackathon is a 24-hour event held at AppLovin’s San Francisco offices.
“We challenge participants to build the coolest apps they can in a day,” noted the firm. “Two Hackathon winners will be awarded $5,000 each. AppLovin will host the Hackathon the weekend of April 16-17.”
