App Annie is known for its research and wisdom about the best ways to promote apps. Its “playbooks” are must-reads for developers and marketers of both new and existing apps.
As a prelude to release of a new playbook on app marketing, the company just released an “app marketing primer” discussing the basics of app store optimization and user acquisition to get audiences ready for more.
“Marketers today are faced with many challenges, including tighter budgets and the expectation that they should be able to accomplish more with less,” App Annie noted in a blog post at the start of the week. “Furthermore, many digital and channel marketers are now finding mobile apps as one of their responsibilities.”
App Annie wants to help people grok the important nuances to learn and keep in mind.
“Marketing on the Google Play Store and iOS App Store each require a tailored approach — and a lot of testing — in order to yield success,” according to the company’s app pros.
