Live video is the next big thing — and now Twitter has launched live 360 video. It’s another development in Twitter’s quest to reign as the most timely and innovative social media site.
The live, interactive 360 videos from interesting broadcasters will give Twitter users an “inside look with well-known personalities and (opportunities to) go behind the scenes at exclusive events.”
There will also be options for interacting with the videos.
“When you see a video marked with a LIVE 360 badge, you can interact with it to change what you see by moving your phone or swiping the screen – all while watching live,” notes a post to the Twitter blog. “See what’s unfolding behind, above, or below the broadcaster’s view for an immersive experience.”
Everyone on Twitter and Periscope can watch live 360 videos, but going live in 360 via Periscope involves an approval process. More details about producing videos are available here at the Periscope blog.
