Nothing is static in digital marketing these days, but if any sector is known for ongoing change, it’s social media.
Now new trend tracking information is out from eMarketer documenting anticipated conditions for mobile messaging apps worldwide, social commerce, and more.
One of the most interesting observations is that Snapchat ad revenues could reach about $1 billion in 2017.
“After weathering criticism of its initial ad offerings, Snapchat is poised for explosive growth in ad revenues in the coming years,” notes eMarketer’s first forecast of ad revenues for the social platform. “Worldwide, it will generate $366.69 million in ad revenues this year, with that figure jumping to $935.46 million in 2017. Right now, the vast majority of its ad revenues are U.S.-based, but that will change quickly.”
In fact, by 2018, as much as 25 percent of Snapchat ad revenues could emanate from other markets.
