The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) has issued the schedule for the sixth annual Digital Content NewFronts.
Set for May 1-12, 2017, in New York City, the 10-day marketplace for brands and media buyers includes presentations from media powerhouses and digital innovators, innovative storytelling, and groundbreaking video experiences.
IAB will again serve as managing partner of the NewFronts, handling event logistics, marketing, and communications for the two-week event.
NewFronts’ co-founders—AOL, DigitasLBi, Google/YouTube, Hulu, and Yahoo—will be joined at the 2017 marketplace by AwesomenessTV, Bloomberg Media, Business Insider, BuzzFeed, Condé Nast Entertainment, DailyMail.com/Elite Daily, DEFY Media, Disney/Maker Studios, Fullscreen, HealthiNation, Hearst, Major League Gaming, Mashable, National Geographic, The New York Times, Newsy, NowThis, POPSUGAR, Refinery29, Spectrum Reach, Studio71, Time Inc., Trusted Media Brands (TMBI), Turner, VICE, Vix, Warner Bros. Digital Networks/Machinima.
“Additional original digital content producers are expected to join the line-up in the weeks ahead to fill the few slots still available,” the IAB says. “Each company will produce and manage its own independent, invitation-only event.”
Anna Bager, the Senior Vice President and General Manager for Mobile and Video at IAB, said digital video programming has become a major part of modern brand marketing.
“Digital video programming and the audiences it attracts have become a cornerstone in brand marketing strategy,” Bager explains. “Investment in the medium has been significant—with 51 percent year-over-year growth in the first half of 2016 alone. The strength of the 2017 NewFronts’ roster of blue chip media companies and inventive content creators is sure to inspire advertisers and media agencies to increase their commitment to digital video even further.”
